I'm a bionformatician working in public health in the UK. I have a molecular (micro)biology background, but over the past decade I've gradually moved away from the laboratory and into bacterial genomics and epidemiology.
At the moment I work on a variety of bacteria that are important causes of healthcare-associated infections and/or associated with antimicrobial resistance, such as Enterobacter, Serratia, Enterococcus, and Burkholderia. I've previously worked on Campylobacter, Streptococcus, and Staphylococcus among others.
Beyond biology, I'm interested in improving how we communicate advanced technical topics in training environments and to our communities. I enjoy giving talks and experimenting with new data visualisation approaches.
