I'm a bioinformatician working in public health in the UK. I have a molecular (micro)biology background, but I've gradually moved away from the laboratory and into bacterial genomics and epidemiology.
At the moment I work on bacterial STIs, mainly Neisseria gonorrhoeae. I've previously worked on Campylobacter, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, and a variety of opportunistic bacterial pathogens.
Beyond biology, I'm interested in improving how we communicate advanced technical topics in training environments and to non-specialists. I enjoy giving talks and experimenting with new data visualisation approaches.
